2023 Subaru Crosstrek in San Jose, CA
The Subaru Crosstrek offers car-like comfort with SUV capabilities. It has a lifted suspension for more ground clearance and offers a choice of engines. For the 2023 model year, the Crosstrek gains a new Special Edition model based on the Premium trim. It has tan exterior paint and dark gray exterior trim elements. Trim Levels (Exterior)
There are 5 trim levels to choose from: Base, Premium, Sport, Limited and Hybrid. The entry-level Base Crosstrek comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, a rear wiper and washer, roof rails, power-adjustable side mirrors, and automatic halogen headlights. The Premium comes with fog lights and heated side mirrors, and the new Special Edition adds to this with tan exterior paint and dark gray wheels and trim. Step up to the Sport for oversize black fender flares, unique exterior badging, a black Sport grille, and 17-inch alloy wheels. You can move up to the Limited, which has 18-inch wheels, adaptive LED headlights, and LED fog lights. Don't forget about the Crosstrek Hybrid with 18-inch wheels, LED fog lights, and navy leather upholstery.
Engine (Power)
The base engine for the Crosstrek is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gas engine that puts out 152 horsepower. The Sport and Limited get a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that generates 182 horsepower and gets 176 pound-feet of torque. The Base and Premium offer a six-speed manual transmission, but you can also get the CVT that comes standard with the rest of the lineup with the two entry-level models.
Performance
The base engine has plenty of power for everyday driving, while the stronger 2.5-liter will get you up to cruising speed faster and with more pep. It will propel the Crosstrek to 60 mph in just 7.5 seconds. This SUV stands out with its handling capabilities, thanks to the responsive steering and firm suspension. If you add a hitch, this small SUV can tow up to 1,500 pounds. The Crosstrek Hybrid can tow up to 1,000 pounds.
Interior
There's room for up to five people in the Crosstrek. The Base has a height-adjustable driver's seat, automatic climate control, and a 60/40 split-folding rear seat. The Premium adds heated front seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel, while the Special Edition has black and red upholstery. The Sport comes with yellow interior stitching and the Limited upgrades to leather upholstery.
Technology features include a 6.5-inch touchscreen, a USB port, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a four-speaker stereo. Satellite radio comes in the Premium, along with a six-speaker stereo and an additional USB port. The Sport offers an 8-inch touchscreen as an option.
Safety Features
Every 2023 Subaru Crosstrek has a full suite of advanced driver aids. Choosing the CVT gets you Subaru's EyeSight bundle of systems with forward collision warning, automatic braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keep assist. The Premium and Sport trims both offer the EyeSight bundle, and you can also top for a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert. Stepping up to the Limited or the Hybrid makes all these safety systems standard and adds rear automatic braking. The Limited also comes with adaptive LED headlights that will swivel when you turn the steering wheel for more light when taking corners.
