2024 Subaru Crosstrek
The Subaru Crosstrek is the perfect combination of on-road driver and off-road conqueror. Its rugged exterior look is only enhanced by its interior features and equipment. For the 2024 model year, the Crosstrek has a new Special Edition model based on the Premium trim with an exclusive Desert Khaki exterior paint color. Here's a closer look at the 2024 Crosstrek and the features you can get.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The entry-level Base trim comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, rear privacy glass, power-adjustable side mirrors, and automatic headlights. Bumping up to the Premium trim gets you fog lights, heated side mirrors, windshield wiper de-icers, and wiper-activated headlights. When equipped with the CVT, it also comes with a sunroof. The Special Edition gets dark-painted wheels and exterior trim, and then the Sport has 17-inch alloy wheels and oversized fender flares. The Sport offers a sunroof as an option, or you can step up to the Limited, which adds 18-inch wheels, the sunroof, and LED fog lights.
Engine (Power)
Power for the Base and Premium Crosstrek comes from a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gas engine that produces 152 horsepower. The Sport and Limited get a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that develops 182 horsepower, and there is also a hybrid version of this SUV. The plug-in setup uses a 2.0-liter gas engine and electric power that combine to put out 148 horsepower. If you have the Base or Premium, you can get a six-speed manual transmission, and the rest of the lineup comes with a CVT.
Performance
The base engine has plenty of power for driving around town, but if you want quicker acceleration, you should get the 2.5-liter turbo engine or the plug-in hybrid powertrain. The turbo gas engine will go from zero to 60 mph in 7.5 seconds. This SUV is easy to drive and handles much like a car. It has a firm suspension that does an excellent job of soaking up bumps. The plug-in hybrid will go up to 17 miles on pure electric power before the gas engine needs to kick in.
Interior
There's room for up to five people in the Crosstrek's two rows. It comes standard with automatic climate control, a height-adjustable driver's seat, and cloth upholstery. The Premium adds a leather-wrapped steering wheel and heated front seats, and the Sport has yellow stitching throughout the cabin and faux leather upholstery. Technology in the Crosstrek starts with a 6.5-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a USB port. You'll get an 8-inch touchscreen in the Special Edition and above, and the Limited offers an eight-speaker stereo.
Safety Features
The Base Crosstrek with the CVT comes standard with Subaru's EyeSight bundle of advanced driver aids. It includes forward collision warning with mitigation, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assist. The Premium with the CVT also has these safety systems, and it offers a blind-spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert. The Sport also offers the blind-spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert, and the Limited makes these standard. The Limited also adds a rear automatic braking system and adaptive LED headlights.
