Pruneridge Golf Club
The best golf course in Santa Clara is Pruneridge Golf Club, a nine-hole executive course with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. It’s a perfect place to get a few practice swings in after a busy day at work; they have a terrific lighted and shaded driving range with two decks.

Sunken Gardens Golf Course
Right beside Santa Clara, in Sunnyvale, lies a pair of very popular 18-hole courses: Sunken Garden Golf Course and Sunny Vale Golf Course. The first is a well-kept 9-hole executive golf course ideal for beginners. The latter is a much more challenging full-sized 18-hole course with a par 70 and plenty of waterholes, bunkers, and doglegs.
The staff here are happy and helpful, and once you’ve worked up an appetite, you can settle down for a delicious meal at the Old Greenwood BBQ restaurant. This joined pair of courses is located at 1010 South Wolfe Road in Sunnyvale.
Los Lagos Golf Course
Just to the southwest of Santa Clara, you’ll find another terrific 18-hole course with a driving range and a great pro golfing shop. This is a particularly scenic course with some attractive man-made lakes to work your way around.
The courses are kept in great condition and are fun to play. As a charming little extra, you’re quite likely to see a few of the resident foxes following you around if they suspect you have any food. Visit Los Lagos Golf Course at 2995 Tuers Road, San Jose.
Deep Cliff Golf Course
This fantastic, award-winning 18-hole course lies a few miles to the southwest of Santa Clara. Here, you’ll find absolute peace and quiet outside of the city noise, plus fast greens, plenty of interesting challenges, and lots of rabbits, deer, and other wildlife.
